The Risk & Insurance Services unit is comprised of Insurance Services and Safety and Risk Services.

The Vision of the Insurance Services Section of the Risk Management Department is to maintain appropriate insurance coverage or find alternative funding mechanisms to adequately protect the district's assets.

The Insurance Services section's primary responsibility is the administration of the District's self-insurance programs, along with managing the District's excess insurance policy purchases and coverages. The Insurance Services section also is responsible for establishing and approving the insurance requirements for all District vendor/contractor/supplier contracts and all professional services contracts or special events usage of District facilities. They also provide documentation for proof of insurance on the District's behalf, for all contracts where the District is required to provide evidence of insurance.

The Vision of the Safety & Risk Services section is to meet the safety needs of Clark County School District through quality safety audits, outstanding customer service and district oriented safety training.

The Safety & Risk Services section's primary responsibility is the administration of the District's health and safety program.  They handle risk assessments, evaluation of current procedures, development of new procedures, and training related to health and safety of students, staff, and the public.  The Safety & Risk Services section is responsible for dealing with OSHA, Health Department, and other outside agency inspections.  Their role is not to enforce but to collaborate with site administrators to help make their site a safer place for all.
