SCHOOL ACTIVITIES/FUNDRAISERS
INSURANCE REQUIREMENTS

Any activity wherein a participant or team is charged an entry fee is considered a fundraiser and requires all applicable paperwork be completed as detailed in the CCSD procedures.
If a school has considered all costs and expenses and decides the activity would be a benefit for the school, and they have received approval from their principal and area superintendent to conduct the event, the organizers must purchase insurance specifically to cover the event.

The District assumes no responsibility or financial expenditure for these events.  The insurance broker who provides our voluntary student accident insurance has prepared two types of packages to be available to schools for these activities at very reasonable rates.

First, WHEN NO ATTENDEES ARE FROM OUTSIDE OF NEVADA, the group can purchase general liability insurance only.  The policy will automatically include CCSD as an additional insured and will issue a certificate you may provide to School Banking with your CCF-410.  Cost of the insurance coverage is minimal, currently estimated at $275 for a two day event.  It is critical that no participants are from outside of Nevada.

When ANY PARTICIPANT COMES FROM OUTSIDE OF NEVADA, the policy must be expanded to include participant injury coverage.  This coverage, in addition to the general liability, is rated by the total number of participants per 1-day, 2-day, 3-day, etc. event (ie 450 participants in a 2-day event at $2.75/participant, plus 40 coaches at $2.00 and an administrative fee of $25.00 totals $1,317.50 for all required coverages).  Again, the additional insured will be automatic and a certificate will be given to you that you can attach to your CCF-410.

Arrangements have been made with Myers Stevens and Toohey (the same broker who handles our student accident coverage) to provide the schools with the appropriate insurance for their fundraising sports events.  You may call them directly at (800) 827-4695 and ask for Monica Toohey.  You must provide them with complete and accurate information.
